Instructional Design for eLearning Course

Digilogue web design Galway work with clients to design elearning and other interactive communication.

One of the most useful tools when working initially with clients and subject matter experts is the mind-mapping program Mindmeister. ** please note for confidentiality reasons, the image to the right is not readable; it is there to give you an idea of the structure and process of developing that structure using mind mapping **

For example, Digilogue are supporting Gréasán Na Meáin (http://greasannamean.ie/) to construct and host an eLearning course. The subject matter is photography and the subject matter expert is Martin Maguire (http://www.martinmaguirestills.com/). After an initial thrashing out of the general principles, we started looking at a few aspects of the course with one clear focus - to engage learning. Yes, we will educate and hopefully entertain - but the clear focus has to be NOT on the content, the structure, the cool technical tools - BUT, the experiential journey of the learner during the course.

The team thus focused on three main areas of potential engagement:

1. Engagement during the 8 Modules: what tools suit best to communicate and engage learning and interaction. For example demonstration of equipment would use video demos, introduction of concepts would use 'studio' video with back-drop motion graphics using green-screen.

2. Participants as active learners: Including weekly submitted assignments with both tutor and peer-reviews, based on a well thought out structure

3. Community-Building: Encouraging the group(s) to work as part of a team, to share insights as well as questions, to publish their work as part of a growing portfolio and having some live sessions to underline the real-world, real-time elements of the course.

  • Enniscrone Golf Club are very pleased with the professional upgrade and redesign of their Web Site in 2012. The level of consultation and back up support through out the whole process was second to none. It was very much a hands on approach which required a good deal of almost daily consultation and discussion and Digilogue were very generous with their time.

  • Our experience of working with Digilogue has been overwhelmingly positive. They are extremely supportive and have a, ‘we can solve that’ approach to every difficult issue we identified. I find them helpful in explaining technical jargon, and at the same time finding a simple means of putting manageable systems in place. They have an ability to mix various digital media in order to develop an attractive and user friendly system
